The post-Brexit world
I start this blog with an apology to all our EU customers.
The apology is for the current lack of transparency and certainty that affects all those placing orders from mainland Europe. Prior to the 31/12/20, all orders were processed with the minimum of fuss and 100% certainty on price and despatch.
The folly (in our opinion) of Brexit completely reverses this position.
We are determined to maintain our European business and offer the same value and service that we have strived to do for many years. Sadly, at the time of writing, this is really challenging for these reasons:
- Delivery details are currently not guaranteed by any courier
- Issues regarding Customs charges and VAT are individual to each separate European country and, as a result, some “hidden costs” are emerging as we process orders.
We will monitor the situation in the short term, process every individual order with good communication and, in the short term, ensure we are delivering your goods as planned at the advertised price.
In the longer term we will revise our website and try and offer a clear and transparent process that reflects the new reality. This will be challenging as Brexit has unequivocally increased our costs with zero benefits for our business.
